In addition to traditional ministries, the Dominican Sisters of Peace embrace Care of Creation as an important area for preaching the Gospel. As ecological issues become increasingly important in the broader Catholic social justice agenda, Sisters have played an important role in educating others on why caring for the Earth is so integrally connected to spirituality. The term "eco-spirituality" reflects the spiritual dimension in the science of ecology that is fostered in eco-spirituality centers of the Dominican Sisters of Peace and in other centers across the United States.
