Volunteers play a key role in sharing our Dominican Mission to preach the Gospel in word and deed. At all of our ministry locations, motherhouses, and healthcare centers, we welcome volunteers who accomplish a wide variety of tasks. In addition, the Dominican Sisters of Peace are actively involved with Dominican Volunteers USA, where young women and men commit to 10-12 months of living and ministering alongside our Sisters and Associates in various locations. In addition, Dominican Volunteers International provides volunteer service opportunities around the world. We are grateful for all those who volunteer in so many ways in the Dominican Family to help spread the Good News with the world.
Dominican Volunteers USA (DVUSA) is an organization that searches for new frontiers for faith by inviting men and women to walk together in mission by responding to the needs of communities, especially the poor and marginalized. The Dominican mission is lived out through proclamations of the gospel in ministry, common life, prayer, and study within a diverse, intergenerational community.
Dominican Volunteers International (DVI) is a project of the Dominican Family whose objective is to link persons and communities from different parts of the world for the purpose of collaborating in the preaching mission. DVI sends qualified lay volunteers who have a relationship with the Dominican communities to those who are already working among people that are poor and excluded. DVI works to animate and strengthen the joint participation of Sisters, nuns, Friars, and laity in the mission of preaching the Gospel according to the charism of St. Dominic.
