Graphic Design Specialist
Part-time

This position assists the Communications Department with graphic design in a non-profit, mission-driven, ministerial setting.
Duties
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing graphics and layout for print and electronic materials
- Managing visual and technical aspects of congregation’s e-communications
- Assisting in the creation and management of congregation’s photograph and video archives
- Acting as creative team consultant
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, marketing communications, or related field
- fluency in PC computers and related hardware
- excellence in computer skills, including the ability to learn new programs easily and to use the following software in a PC environment: QuarkXpress 9, Photoshop CS5, Cyberlink Power Director (or other video editing software), Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Office (including Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- familiarity with cloud- and web-based communications, including social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Flickr, YouTube, etc.) and e-newsletters
- excellent communications skills, both oral and written
- ability to prioritize tasks, effectively handle mutliple projects, and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- familiarity with Etapestry, Raiser's Edge, or other donor database software beneficial
- knowledge of Catholicism and/or women religious beneficial

General Maintenance Worker

Duties
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- maintaining machinery and equipment,
- maintaining physical structures
- maintaining HVAC system
- maintaining plumbing system and sprinklers,
- maintaining emergency and general electrical system
Minimum Qualifications
Verifiable training from a college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and verifiable related work experience or training is acceptable. All applicable trade licenses and certifications are strongly desired.
This position requires:
- ability to work after hours if necessary, some weekends
- availablity to participate in the mandatory 24-hour "on-call" phone department rotation
- ability to safely pull push and lift 50lbs consistently
- ability to climb ladders, stand, squat, and bend safely

Nursing Assistant - Akron Motherhouse Wellness Center
The Dominican Sisters of Peace Akron Motherhouse Wellness Center is seeking a nursing assistant who will be available for any shift on an as needed basis.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Sisters in ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), which includes the following but are not limited to: hygiene & bathing, dressing & grooming, toileting & pre-care, keeping rooms tidy, eating & nutritional/hydrating needs, taking medications, topical application of creams/ointments, assistive devices - including cleaning of walkers and wheelchairs, ambulation & transfers, prompt response to call lights, entertainment & activities available.
- Report any change in the health status of a Sister to the director or the charge nurse for the day.
- Accurately take basic vital signs: B/P, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Communicate Sister needs to appropriate staff members.
- Provide emergency care as needed.
- Alert director or staff nurse for maintenance or other environmental needs.
- Provide complete verbal & written reports to alternate shifts.
- Assist the Sisters in activities that promote spiritual life/growth.
- Maintain the highest level of professional, medical confidentiality.
- Be aware and compliant with all policies & procedures of the Wellness Center and Dominican Sisters of Peace.
- Cultivate and maintain positive communication with other staff members.
- Performs all other duties as determined by the Director.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- Ability to assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Pleasant and caring disposition
- Previous patient care experience or experience in the medical field
- Previous experience caring for the elderly is preferred
- States tested (certified) preferred
