Administrative  Assistant
Akron Motherhouse
Akron, Ohio

Hours: Part time, 20 hours, daily M-F

Qualifications:

  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written form with staff, sisters, and public
  • Compose reports and correspondence, and edit documents with spelling and grammatical accuracy
  • Maintain professional and pleasant demeanor, maintain confidentiality, prioritize assigned tasks, follow directions, work independently
  • Timeliness of completion of work product, as well as the accuracy of the work product is essential

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing support to the Mission Group Coordinator, Sisters, Treasurer, and other Managers
  • Responsible for the coordination of daily activities in the department
  • Initiating correspondence and projects
  • Facilitating the flow of information to both internal and external groups
  • Processesing confidential information with discretion

Boiler Plant Operator/Maintenance Technician II
Columbus Motherhouse
Columbus, Ohio

Hours: Full time, 7-4 daily M-F, on call one week per month

Qualifications:

  • A State Stationary License in Boiler Operations
  • 2 year minimum experience in stationary engineering
  • Previous experience in performing chemical analysis is highly preferred.
  • Ability to perform general physical activities that require use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling materials.
  • Completing distributed maintenance work orders as assigned
  • Communication with vendors and contractors outside of the organization
  • Problem solving, resolving conflicts, handling of complaints as necessary

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to maintaining machinery, equipment, physical structures, HVAC system, plumbing system, sprinklers, emergency and general electrical systems

Receptionist
Mohun Health Care Center
Columbus, Ohio
Hours: Saturdays and Sunday: 8:!5am to 12pm | Wednesdays 4:30-7:30pm
Pay is based upon experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Open and close front desk.
  • Monitor doors and parking lot.
  • Work phone system.

Contingent (PRN) RN or LPN
Mohun Health Care Center
Columbus, Ohio
Hours: 6:30pm to 7am
Pay is based upon experience. Long-term Care experience preferred. This position reports to the Director of Nursing.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining standards of care performed on the unit (floor).
  • Overseeing the distribution of staffing resources and supplies.
  • Assuring appropriate and quality care is given to all residents.
  • Communicating resident needs to attending physicians as necessary.
  • Assuring care is given in accordance with federal and state guidelines.

Nursing Assistant
Akron Motherhouse
Akron, Ohio

The Wellness Center provides nursing care at an assisted living level and is located in the Akron Motherhouse.

Qualifications:

  • STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant)
  • Ability to assist persons with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's)
  • Pleasant and caring disposition
  • Previous patient care experience or experience in the medical field is helpful, especially with the elderly

Responsibilities:
All nursing staff work is done under the general supervision of an RN. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting Sisters in ADL's
  • Reporting any change in the health status of a Sister to the Nurse Manager or her designee
  • Assessing basic vital signs: B/P, temp, pulse, and respiration
  • Communicating Sister needs to appropriate staff members
  • Providing emergency care as able
  • Alerting appropriate staff for maintenance or other environmental needs
  • Assisting with activities as needed
  • Providing complete verbal and written report to alternate shifts
  • Assisting the Sisters in activities that promote spiritual life/growth
  • Maintaining the highest level of professional, medical confidentiality
  • Remaining proficient and aware of all policies & procedures of the Wellness Center and the Dominican Sisters of Peace
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or her designee
