Associates Pray for Open, Transparent, and Faith-Filled Hearts

Monday, July 30, 2012

"We call on the Spirit of God to reveal the way forward that is faithful to God's dream for us and our lives together. May we come to the table with hearts that are open, transparent and faith-filled." - God's Spirit by Sr. Chris Koellhoffer, IHM

The Dominican Associates of Peace are joining the Sisters with faith-filled hearts during these days of important meetings for the Leadership Conference of Women Religious. Please pray daily the prayer, God's Spirit, which seeks "deep listening to the voice of the Spirit at work in our world."

Northeast Ohio Associates Pray and Celebrate!
Northeast Ohio Associates joined the Sisters in Akron, OH, in a prayer service and social celebrating both St. Mary of Magdala and our shared mission with the Dominican Sisters of Peace. Sr. Diana Culbertson, OP, reminded participants that Mary of Magdala's active presence was central in preaching the Risen Christ and that she remains an inspiring woman today.

Olympic Champion Prays For "Love of Christ who is more than gold"
As we watched the excitement of the opening ceremonies igniting the 205 copper petals representing the competing nations, and the marathon TV coverage of the strength, skill and stamina of the Olympic athletes, may we join Olympic champion Ohuruogu in prayer. She prayed that "in a world where many are rejected and abused, we pray for a spirit of tolerance and acceptance, of humility and respect and for the health and safety of all. May we be lead towards the love of Christ who is more than gold, today and forever. Amen."
