Church Bells Ring for Religious Freedom
Associate Judy Hoffman, OPA, has reported that on July 4, St. Joseph's Church in Liebenthal, KS, joined with churches across the country to ring the bells for religious freedom and to offer prayers for our country. Parishioners were invited to attend a bell-ringing and to enter the "bell tower" to learn how the church bells are rung. There are three ropes and three different sized bells to make the beautiful sounds of the bells in harmony. After a five minute bell ringing, all took part in an hour of prayer and singing patriotic songs. The event was sponsored by "Churches for Freedom" and organized by Judy. Pictured ringing the bells are Duane Legleiter, Mary Ann Legleiter, and Emmet McGinn. Fourteen parishioners participated in the prayer hour.
