Vocation Retreat August 31 - September 3, 2012

Thursday, July 5, 2012

Are you struggling to discern if God may be calling you to religious life? Do you feel like you must be a little crazy since so many of your friends are making other life choices?  If yes, check your calendar for this Labor Day weekend!

The Ministry of Welcome Vocations Team of the Dominican Sisters of Peace will sponsor a "Come and See Retreat" this Labor Day weekend that offers single women, ages 18-45, a unique experience of spending time with God in prayer and reflection for the purpose of discerning if God may be calling them to this vocation of love and service.

Our Come and See Retreat is an occasion to learn more about the life and ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace while sharing, meeting and having fun with other women who are also discerning God’s call in their lives. One young woman wrote of her recent "Come and See Retreat," I was very grateful for the experience. It was great to have the time to pray and reflect and to spend time with you [the Sisters] and others.

The theme for this year's retreat is "Forward in Joy." Chosen by our presenter, Sr. Anne Keenan, OP, it celebrates the fact that God is still calling Catholic Christian women to risk the journey of joyfully spreading the gospel of love, truth, and justice proclaimed by Christ.

If you feel God may be asking you to discern a call to religious life, join us for our Come and See Labor Day Retreat beginning on Friday evening, August 31, and ending on Monday morning, September 3, 2012, in Akron, Ohio.  If you are interested in attending or would like additional information, please contact Sr. Pat Dual, OP, at pdual@oppeace.org or call or text 614.216.7688 or call toll free 855.313.3131.
