Reflection on Prayer: Sr. Ruth Caspar, OP
Our new Constitutions express clearly what prayer means in my life. In the Prologue, we say “God’s ever-faithful Love, discovered daily in prayer and contemplation . . . .impels us to listen and to respond to God’s Spirit with zeal, compassion and joy.” For me, this daily prayer includes Eucharist, Liturgy of the Hours, and contemplative prayer. Our local community prays the Liturgy of the Hours together, with shared preaching on the Word. I find that often my time of contemplative prayer is enriched by the beauties of God’s creation. When I have the time and space, I love to paint mandalas as an expression of God’s on-going revelation in my life.
